Hutch School Quilt "Empowering Science, Making History"

The tradition continues for the 14th year with this striking 2007 Hutch School quilt. This year’s masterpiece features drawings by the Hutch Summer School students ranging in age from five to 16 years. The students were asked to draw what “Empowering Science, Making History” meant to them. The designs are thoughtful and creative, illustrating concepts such as exploration and hope. The Hutch School is an accredited K – 12 program, meeting the educational needs of pediatric patients and school-aged family members of patients. The school’s population is representative of the Hutchinson Center’s patient population – that is, from all walks of life and from all over the world.

This can entail anything from tackling a specific project to visiting various departments throughout the day for a sampling of the internal structure of the company. At the end of the day they’ll report back to the CEO or president’s office to discuss what they learned and have an opportunity to ask questions. It’s the perfect way to network and get started on a career path.
